Leadership at Laguna Madre Yacht Club
At Laguna Madre Yacht Club, our Flag Officers are more than leaders—they’re fellow sailors, organizers, and friends who help keep the club running smoothly and the good times rolling. From race days on the water to dockside socials, each officer plays a part in creating the welcoming, laid-back atmosphere that makes LMYC special.

Becoming a Flag Officer
Flag Officers are elected each year by the membership and serve a one-year term, beginning at the annual meeting in January.
Members in good standing are encouraged to participate in the nomination process. Candidates may be:
-
Nominated by the club’s nominating committee ahead of the election, or
-
Nominated from the floor during the November meeting
Flag Officers play a vital role in shaping the direction and future of the club, and members with an interest in leadership, service, and community involvement are encouraged to step forward.
A Shared Effort
While each officer has a role to play, what truly makes Laguna Madre Yacht Club special is the spirit of teamwork. Our officers work together—and alongside our members—to create a club that’s active, welcoming, and full of life.
Whether you're racing, cruising, or just enjoying a sunset at the clubhouse, it’s all made possible by the people who step up to lead and lend a hand.
